Region

Pézenas is a sub-appellation of the Languedoc appellation in southern France. It is one of several Languedoc sub-appellations, all of which are located on the coastal plains between Narbonne in the west, Montpellier in the center and Nîmes in the east. The climate here is distinctly Mediterranean, with long, hot summers and relatively mild winters helping to bring the grapes to full phenolic ripeness.

Variety

Although most people think of Sauvignon Blanc from NZ - this Sauvignon Blanc isnt your typical sauvignon blanc. Sauvignon blanc is a green-skinned grape variety that originates from the Bordeaux region of France. The grape most likely gets its name from the French words sauvage ("wild") and blanc ("white") due to its early origins as an indigenous grape in South West France. It is possibly a descendant of Savagnin.

Tasting Notes

This wine showcases aromas of blossom, lemon, some stone fruit, herbs. Fresh and juicy, with good acidic balance.

Food Pairings

Pair with a patio or first glass of the evening, with fresh goat’s cheese or river fish.
