Why We Like It
Born in Fattoria del Colle, the oldest and most intact area in Tuscany, this high-quality wine is rich, expressive and has the capability to age. With aromas of ripe red fruits and earthy flavours, we’d say this wine is an absolute masterpiece. The producer leads by example not only through their wines but also through their all- female cellar staff. A revolutionary work environment for Italy and a flagship for women in the wine business.

Region
Tuscany is Italy’s sixth largest wine producing region and nearly two-thirds of its vineyards are planted with the Sangiovese grape. As a region whose residents spend an excessive amount of time thinking about and indulging in food and wine, you know these wines are gonna be real good. Best known for its dramatic landscapes, hilltop towns, and the historic cities of Florence and Siena, Tuscany is also home to some of Italy’s most popular wines such as the reds of Chianti. Oh and one last thing… the leaning tower of Pisa, you’ll also find that here.
Producer
Donatella Cinelli Colombini is a force to be reckoned with in the world of wine. Besides producing top of the line vino, Colombini is also known for her initiatives in promoting and supporting women in the wine industry. The entire winemaking team is made up of women- something you don’t find often in Italy. In 1998, when she began winemaking, Colombini inquired about a cellar master from local enology schools, and she was told that only female students were available since many wineries did not want to hire them. That’s right, 1998! 23 years later and Colombini is now a flagship for women in the wine business. Let’s hear it for the ladies!
